Marble Hill faisait autrefois partie de l'\u00eele de Manhattan, mais le Harlem River Ship Canal, creus\u00e9 en 1895 pour am\u00e9liorer la navigation sur la Harlem River, l'a s\u00e9par\u00e9 du reste de Manhattan en tant qu'\u00eele entre le Bronx et le reste de Manhattan.
